Somehow this song has both the opposite and the exact same meaning as it did when I sang it in Sunday School growing up. Being a light shining in the darkness has always been a part of my story even when I was in the middle of figuring out exactly what I stood for. And now it is a little clearer what I want to shine…belief. I believe in you. I believe that you have every single thing you need inside of you to make your dream into a reality. I believe that even though you aren’t quite sure about the how yet, I know that your what is worth fighting for.

In every conversation, even the ones where you don’t believe in yourself, or the times when you can’t see a way forward, I’m going to let it shine. I believe in you. Amen. Amen.
